Next Nyepi Day in Bali will be in March from 25th & 26th 2020
Nyepi is an important religious event in Bali and marks the beginning of the New Year in the Balinese Hindu calendar. Nyepi is celebrated with a day and night of silence, fasting, no lighting.
The Day of Silence is a day reserved for self-reflection and meditation as such, anything that might interfere with that purpose is restricted. On Nyepi Day, from 6 AM to 6 AM the following day, all daily activities throughout Bali will stop. Shops and offices will be closed and people are not allowed to go out into the streets, go onto the beach, engage in entertainment activities, turn on lights or make noise. Ngurah Rai International Airport will be closed for Nyepi Day, and the only persons allowed out are the Pecalang, traditional security men who patrol the streets to ensure the prohibitions are being followed.
Our resort will follow and participate in this tradition;
- There will be very little outdoor lighting during the night and there will be no transportation services to and from the resort, although emergency ambulance service will be operational.
- Our pools and garden areas are available for your enjoyment however we request that you do not use the beach area or swim in the sea on Nyepi Day.
- Starting from 6 PM, we entreat you to close your room curtains, blinds or window sliding door.
-We have rearranged our outlets operational hours during Nyepi and you may find the details below.
In addition, as per the regulation of the Government of Bali, all television providers, including cable channels, will not broadcast during Nyepi Day; however we will show continuous movies through our internal TV channel (Channel 70 and Chanel 71).
